OmniVision Announces Automotive Image Sensor for LED Flicker Mitigation With Industry’s Smallest Split-Pixel Design

Low Power Consumption Sensor Enables Rear View and Surround View Cameras With Excellent Image Quality and Extended Scene Detail Via Best in Class Resolution and High Dynamic Range of 110dB in LFM Mode

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – May 20, 2019 – OmniVision Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of advanced digital imaging solutions, today announced the OX01D10—its next generation 1MP image sensor for automotive viewing applications. This sensor brings together split-pixel and dual conversion gain (DCG) technology, delivering artifact-free motion capture, high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 120dB, as well as LED flicker mitigation (LFM).

These features increase driver safety because more scene details can be captured by rear view and surround view cameras while operating over the full automotive temperature range. Additionally, the OX01D10 provides excellent image quality in demanding lighting conditions such as capturing objects in motion along with LED signs and headlights.

“The OX01D10 delivers low power and high performance in a small form factor,” said Andy Hanvey, automotive marketing director at OmniVision. “We provide the industry’s leading LFM performance over the full automotive temperature range, which meets the needs of OEMs that are increasingly requiring cameras to mitigate the flicker from LED lighting in vehicles, signs, buildings and a wide variety of other outdoor illumination.”

The OX01D10 enables the industry’s smallest and most power efficient viewing camera modules by consuming less than 200mW at the full 30fps and providing the highest resolution in a 1/4 inch optical format. This new image sensor also has advanced ASIL features and HDR of 120dB without LFM (110dB in LFM mode).

AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certified samples and evaluation kits are available now. Additionally, the OX01D10 image sensor will be demonstrated at OmniVision’s private suite at Computex, May 28-30. Contact your OmniVision sales representative for more information: www.ovt.com/contact-sales.
