AI+: Combining AI and Other Critical Functions Using Intel FPGAs

AI is increasingly being deployed in vision applications, and most of these applications require other functionality in addition to AI. For example, a system may require AI plus high-performance I/O for lower system latency, AI plus encryption for security or AI plus networking to achieve persistence. In cases like these, the unique flexibility of the Intel® FPGA fabric and I/O, along with the FPGA’s optimized compute engines, enable system developers to deliver truly differentiated solutions. In this presentation, we explain how Intel FPGAs enable “AI+” – combining AI and other functionality to create efficient, highly integrated, high-performance solutions. We’ll present several examples showing how AI+ is being used today. We will also explain how Intel’s OpenVINO toolchain enables you to easily develop AI+ solutions.


Ronak Shah

Director, AI Marketing Strategy, Intel PSG

Ronak Shah is the Director of Intel PSG’s AI Marketing Strategy. In this role, he is responsible for driving the strategy, developing the go to market campaign and building the ecosystem. Prior to taking over this role, Ronak managed the Data Center & Aerospace Systems Solutions Engineering teams focused on developing complex algorithms to market the capabilities of our chips and tools. Ronak has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, a M.S in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara with a focus in Computer Vision & Speech Processing and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
